2013 - The Twelfth Annual Congress

The 2013 congress will be held on Friday 6th, Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of September 2013.

The Welcome Pairs (a friendly warm-up event) will be held at the club rooms in Tura Beach on Friday evening.

The Swiss Pairs and Swiss Teams events will be held at the Club Sapphire, Merimbula on Saturday and Sunday.

2012 - The Eleventh Annual Congress

The 2012 congress was held on Friday 7th, Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of September.

37 players from the local club were joined by another 63 from 14 clubs spread across NSW, ACT and Victoria.

The Welcome Pairs (a friendly warm-up event) was held at the club rooms in Tura Beach.

The Swiss Pairs Championship was held at Club Sapphire on Saturday. The winners were Catherine Chown and Chris Bayliss from the Southern Highlands Bridge Club; Second were Lesley Gunson and Keith Mitchell from South Canberra Bridge Club; Third were Niek Van Vucht and Wendy Boxall from the Canberra Bridge Club. Best-finishing locals were Colin Manley-Lewis Seychell and John Bentley-Barry Thorpe.

The Swiss Teams Championship was held at Club Sapphire on Sunday and resulted in a tie between two teams from Canberra Bridge Club: John Brockwell, Elainne Leach, Bruce and Bev Crossman had the same good score as Rhonda Thorpe, Val Carmody, Liz and Len Van Der Hor. Best finishing locals were Beata Denkiewicz and John Fry had a “blind date” with the Swiss Pairs champions and ran a creditable fourth.
